Large Community Turnout for 觅圈资源站 Second Lake Hico Community Forum

February 3, 2025

The Jackson Public School District hosted its second Lake Hico Community Forum on January 23, 2025, at Kirksey Middle School.  The response was overwhelming as community leaders and residents gathered to share their thoughts and ideas.

Superintendent Dr. Errick L. Greene facilitated the forum, which featured hands-on collaboration. Attendees explored maps of the 640-acre Lake Hico property, while using colored markers to provide feedback and help shape a collective vision for its development.

“This is going to impact the city of Jackson because there are 640 acres at Lake Hico being developed for the community,” said Jackson Councilwoman Tina Clay. “It’s also going to impact Jackson Public Schools because it’s 16th-section land.”

A Lake Hico task force will soon be formed to explore potential uses for the area.
