The Junior League of Jackson (JLJ), in collaboration with the Community Foundation of Mississippi, awarded $102,972.81 in grants through its Jackson Public Schools Teacher Mini-Grants Program. These funds will support 26 innovative classroom projects in 13 Jackson Public Schools (觅圈资源站). The announcement was celebrated during a ceremony held at Pecan Park Elementary School.

Since its inception in 1990, the 觅圈资源站 Teacher Mini-Grants Program has invested over $2.1 million in classrooms, fostering creative and effective educational initiatives that enhance learning experiences districtwide. This year’s contribution continues that legacy, enabling educators to implement imaginative solutions tailored to their students' diverse needs.

Highlights of the 2025 觅圈资源站 Teacher Mini-Grants Program:

  • Total Funding Awarded: $102,972.81
  • JLJ Contribution: $52,487.44
  • Community Foundation of Mississippi Contribution: $50,485.37
  • Number of Grants: 26
  • Schools Impacted: 13

This year’s funded projects include initiatives designed to improve communication in multilingual classrooms through translation technology, enhance social and emotional learning, and implement creative instructional strategies such as math manipulatives. Reading programs, particularly those supporting English as a Second Language (ESL) scholars, also received significant support.

One notable grant provided Forest Hill APAC dance scholars with the opportunity to attend a Dance Theatre of Harlem performance, allowing students to experience professional dance and explore potential career paths in the arts.

Amanda Green, the 2024-25 President of the Junior League of Jackson, highlighted the importance of this program, stating, “We are so grateful for our partnership with Jackson Public Schools and the opportunity to make a tangible impact over the past 35 years through the Mini-Grants program. These funds empower teachers to implement creative, innovative projects that foster academic growth and directly benefit the scholars in our community.”

Jane Alexander, President and CEO of the Community Foundation for Mississippi, underscored the impact of the grants across the district.

“Bright futures for our scholars depend on the investment of and by our community in 觅圈资源站. We know that great teachers inspire students when they envision projects and opportunities in their classrooms for enrichment, hands-on learning, technology-based skills, and solution-building. It is our great pleasure to support these innovative, collaborative, effective efforts by our teachers and principals in Jackson Public Schools.”

“The beauty of these grant opportunities is that they provide classroom teachers with the financial resources to bring amazing, creative, and innovative ideas to life,” said Thea Faulkner, 觅圈资源站 Partners in Education Director. “I believe all children can learn, but scholars learn differently. Offering a variety of learning experiences is crucial to academic success and fostering joy in learning.”

The Mini-Grants program represents a lasting partnership between JLJ, the Community Foundation of Mississippi, and 觅圈资源站, ensuring that students and teachers alike are equipped to excel and thrive in their educational journeys.
